420A this is bad

so today i was on my way home from dropping my sister to work. i was at a light and this 4 door legend pulls next to me with the bee sounding rice exhaust. there were about 5 people in the car. and they started telling me all kinds of shit (wanted me to race). so i said ok the light turns green and i pull out with EVERYTHING my car can push. i look to the side and their like a half block in front of me.... i was like how could a 4 door legend with 5 people in it beat a 2 door eclipse with just me in it. and im only about 130 pounds. i know that turbo eclipses are prob faster but im still saying wtf was mitsubishi thinking when they made a sports car this SLOW?. i understand that turbo's are faster but still i think that non turbo's is the slowest sports cars in the street. its really sad. im thinking about selling my eclipse and buying an integra or hooking up my 300z now. my sister's ####ing 4 door daewoo can beat my ####ing eclipse in a race..just wanted to get some anger out....

u must not know how to launch or shift cuz ive raced my friends 4 door legend and he was behind me by like 2 cars. and 2gnt arent as slow as u make them seem. ive never lost to a car that would make me feel stupid like that legend made u (no offense).

Something had to have been wrong there. My car is only lightly modded right now but if I did lose it wouldn't have been that bad. Could that car have been heavily modded? Still, the 420a is not a bad engine, it's pretty worthy IMO.

u going to give me the money?.... and theres nothing wrong with my car its in perfect condition and there aint sh!t wrong with my shifting cause i have an automatic. just like the legend i raced. and the legend was not modded. i talked to the people at the next light. (they were telling me alot of sh!t) i asked them wat mods they had. they had nothing to do with speeds. they were telling me like the kind of audio setup they have and where they have neons and that sort of stuff....the only thing he said that had to do with speed was the riced out exhaust. and i know that dont add much.

umm i dont know who eric is.. and im not like one of thoes jacka$$es that race anytime anywhere. ive had my car for over 7 months and this was the first time i ever raced it. and i prob would never do it again. im sure everyone tried it atleast once. and im sure if u had 5 people in a car next to u for 2 min telling u shit u would try it also. i posted this tread because i was sadly disappointed by my car's performance. if i cared for racing at all i would not be driving my non turbo eclipse. i would be in my twinturbo 300z. the z wont be parked up in the yard everyday. and i drove the 300z for a few months before i got my eclipse (it was my 2nd car) and i never raced it. if u dont know about people dont judge them and post stupid replys like this.

I'm used to my 93 FWD turbo and 93 AWD turbo. I drove my buddies 420a Talon yesterday. That thing has nothing. Slow. Don't race it. Drive from point A to point B or you will be disappointed everytime you race.

I have beaten a non turbo 420a with my 4g63 non turbo, both were eclipses, both were stock... difference was I am stickshift and he was an automatic... but it does seem that automatic eclipses seem to be REALLY slow... sorry, but automatic to me seems like it has turbo lag without a turbo... its like, your waiting for it to pick up, and it never does...

yea i don't mind the auto either, i just put a stage 2 turbo kit in my auto and it responds great, but of course stick is better, its just what i have to deal with, and i am making the best of it

I have a N/T and I don't believe my car is that slow. I beat a lot of things and I never complained about my performance. I believe every has has the ability to be fast you just need to know what to do.
