Thermal R&D Exhaust Review (2gAWD)

When I first ordered the exhaust I knew that I would love it. In my opinion it was the best looking exhaust on a 2g talon. It doesn't stand out like some other brands do. After months of research I finally ordered it from Slowboyracing.com.

Shipping- The full cat back was shipped to me in a 3' X 7' X 1' box that was still intact upon arrival. When I opened the box up it was bubble wrapped, plastic wrapped and sitting in Styrofoam. There was no damage to the product as well as the box. I was very impressed.

Product- The TR&D exhaust is beautiful. It was absolutely flawless from end to end. It was a lot nicer then I had ever expected and made it that much more exciting to get it installed. Once it was installed it sounds as nice as it looks. At idle it is close to stock but at WOT it growls. There is not a hint of ricey whine or coffee can rattle. It doesn't attract a lot of unwanted attention like other brands do. (GREAT FOR CALI TUNERS)

Installation Installation was a breeze. All of the hangers lined up to where they were had to be. I actually had to modify one of the hangers near the muffler because the person who owned my car before me screwed up the section that hanger connects to. It also matched up with the stock cat perfectly. With a good jack and jack stands, anyone could do the installation. Like anything else, proper tools make installation a breeze.

Performance I noticed a difference in performance all around. The launches were smoother and turbo spooled a little faster. The acceleration from 45mph to highway speeds was better. I don’t have any dyno numbers to show how much of a gain that I got from this but I do know how my car felt before and after the install.

Overall Opinion- This is by far the best money spent on my car. The Thermal exhaust is in my opinion the best bang for the buck. If you are looking for an easy/ no hassle installation then this is the one for you. If you want a full 3inch system then all you would have to do is cut off about 3-5 inches of pipe where it reduces to 2 1/2 inches and weld on a 3 inch pipe to it. That’s not rocket science and anyone with access to tools or a muffler shop can do it.
