Hey guys, first off I have a 1997 2g turbo. And when I turn the car off for the day and after a while, she will start clicking inside the radio console area.

I just read something that "..ooo my ECU is going bad because I heard the relay clicking.."

One thing to mention is that my power door locks don't work when the car is off and when the car is on it works.

So, is my ECU going dead?

I have read some stuff that said if you hear the relay clicking your ecu is shot, i do not think it is accurate. I don't believe the problem is anything serious just an old relay turning off, but maybe not.

well actually my ECU was making some clinking noise at first i just disregarded then it turned to a buzzing noise then i stated getting worried for a couple of days....woke up to go to school tryed to turn my car and BOOOM my car was on fire. ECU went in flames for a couple of seconds...had to get a new ECU....

I've hear that noise in my car sometimes, but rarely like 1-2 times a month. My car in N/T so I don't know if it's the same thing but it's working just fine. Sometimes it does the sound when I disconect the battery and reconect it again. I can hear the noise in the firewall, close to the cruise cables (behind the intake manifold).

The CLASSIC pattern is Oil leaks KILLS Voltage Regulator in ALT - Which clicks Power Relay for ECU & high Voltage FRIES Caps in ECU that somehow fails to WFO & then FLOODS Cylinders & crankcase with Gasoline - You should ALWAYS check your Alt Voltage output before putting in a new ECU.
