My turn! This guy is on ladsm.com. He said the clutch just went out, might be the transmission. Before the clutch/transmission went out, he was selling for $2500 but since it just went out, he got tired of it and is selling for $500 now. Check it out. I was just thinking about buying, fixing, and selling. I need a little extra money for school so I thought it would be an easy thing to do.

Also, he just PM'ed me saying: "you can hear the grinding noise as it sits in netural. when you depress the clutch the grinding noise gets a little louder. The engine is strong and starts right up with no problems."

Idk what possible problem that would be. I dont wanna jump straight to thinking its crankwalk, it kinda sounds like a bad TOB or something.
 
If it looks as it did in the last picture, the body, alone, is worth $500.
 
That's what I'm thinking. It looks like its in good condition from the pictures. There's another guy thats interested in it, so it's between him and I to see who gets it first.

91 Eagle Talon TSi AWD Turbo

I would like to see if anyone has personally seen this car, heard it run, or even driven it. I'm tempted, as I wanted to go auto with my next car, but it is quite a ways a way. Also, it has been for sale for a couple months now, leading me to think there's something up with it.

Opinions will be much appreciated!

ok i have been looking to get back into the dsm game and get rid of my honda i found this online last night i know ABOUT THE WING IM TAKING THAT OFF WHEN I GET IT LOL............the ad say needs to be checked by mechanic so when i talked to him he said he tried to start the car yesterday morning and didnt have time to jump it so as of now idk whats wrong im going to look at the car at 430 eastern time and see what else he has to say check the condition of it i was wondering when looking at it what should i look for and how well do the turbos hold up over the years


i am thinking of trading him my 91 accord dx 96kmiles with rear damage and possibly bent unibody
 
Thread Revival.

So, everyone knows that I've found my 'Love' which is my 2G TSI AWD, 6 bolt swap, Link, etc. The thing is wonderful and is only lacking a few things like a clutch (which I have waiting), cams, some head work, and a new wideband...Well today I was hit with this..

The guy seems pretty legit. Has answered all questions, given me the ups and downs of the vehicle (paint), and supplied all information requested. I'm waiting on more pictures. He's offered to drive the car the full 300+ miles to me. Known mods with this car.

6/4 combo, pro topline crank, eagle forged rods, wiseco .020" oversize pistons, total seal rings. The engine has been blueprinted, hardened and fully balanced. It has the balance shaft eliminator kit, racing head with ferrera valves titanium retainers, HKS 272 cams. AEM tru time adjustable cam gears. 550cc injectors currently (but have 950cc injectors for further tuning) 255lph fuel pump with regulator and gauge, aftermarket fuel rail, braided fuel line. Front mount intercooler. Turbonetics ball bearing turbo .60 a/r compressor side. arp head stud kit, cometic head gasket, act stage 3 clutch. Turbo Diaper, 3" exhaust, and fully adjustable suspension.

I'll be drilling for more information such as paperwork on the blueprinting and machine work as well as many other things. If you were in my shoes, and it all checked out, would you trade?

Also, as an alternative, he has an Auto 99 GSX with a 6bolt swap and 2-3 grand on top. Insight? I'm kind of twisting in my guy over this as I love Wrex beyond belief.. but yeah..I have a habit.

I would trade it for the one in your avatar, if that is the trade you are talking about.

But, I'm partial to 1g DSMs. And that 1g would look sexy if it was cleaned up.

And if you don't trade it I am going to come down to Paragould and kick your ass for not taking it. Well, when I get home in a week and a half I will.

He offered Me the Talon, to drive it to me, and $400 on top to help pick up Link for the 1G. But.. it's completely untunned and the most I've got as far as reassurance that it's as built as he said is that he can assure that it is.

Hm...
 
And here's this for the record. The rear is gutted but they have the rear seats and everything. The fuel pump is rather loud. He's getting me more videos as I can't really hear the engine idle for what it is. And also, the header wrap has GOT to go.

Really...=/ Trade a nearly immaculate 2G 6 bolt swap with the mods listed in my profile, for this 1G plus $400 to help cover purchasing Link?
 
IDK Kei, I like your Talon way better than that one. Don't you already have a decent setup on your 2G anyways?

Yeah.. I do. There are a few things that need to be done to finalize it. -shrug- Mmm... I'm 70/30 for wanting to keep my Talon but it's like dangling a piece of meat out there.
 
My oninion is that you keep yours. I've always liked your 2G Talon. It's a cool color and has a nice setup, and it is clean as hell. What more could you ask for?
 
I put a downpayment on it. but should i really buy it?


1993 EAGLE TALON

Well, right off the bat it's not an import. Shame on him. It's clean. No engine bay shots, so I can't say. Going to need more details than that to sway me into spending that amount of money. I can pick up a pristine 6 bolt swapped 2Gb AWD for $4000 right now. What would make me want that one over the 2G? Toss me a sales pitch and I'll tell you what I think.

That 1g looks clean on the outside but I couldnt see myself spending that much unless it was immaculate under the hood and interior as well.
 
It has a really clean inside. and the transmission and motor are imported and have 20k miles on each of them. Engine bay is stock. the way i freakin like it!
