Is there a way to test and see if an aftermarket fan works when the car is running? My AC fan works, but I haven't let the car get so hot to see if it works, so nothing will get damaged. I know the fan itself works, because I hooked it up to a 9v battery. My thermostat housing has a cap on it if that matters so I dont believe it is the stock one for my galant. There is a coolant temp sensor coming out of the housing with a white end on it, and two spades in it, and there is two wires I have for my galant that were pushed in there, but they do not stay. Would that make the fan work if I fix it? Is there a way to test it? Thanks!

Not the AC fan, the cooling fan. I know the AC fan works by switching on the AC switch. I need to test the other fan and I do not want to let the car overheat.

Maybe if you have some software for your car, it may have the option to turn on the fan. I use evoscan and I can use it to turn on the radiator fan

yes use a scan tool to turn it on. system test most times it will cut it on unless it doesnt give you the option or you can take out the sensor that runs the fan and heat it with lighter and with the ignition and that might trigger it on.
