take 45 minute drives and the car doesnt like to shift

well everyday i drive about 45 mins to school and another 45 mins back and when its really hott outside (90 degrees +++) it gets really hard to shift into any gear. now when i first drive to school at like 8 in the morning while its still kinda cool it shifts fine, but when its hott outside (around 12) it doesnt like to shift. i was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem? if not what kind of high temp fluids are you guys running?

Pretty sure the tranny runs 90 weight gear oil, but what you are describing is weird usually its had to shift cold and easier hot. Is the fluid at the proper level?

Its full to the top. in fact i squeeze as much of the stuff in as i can. im thinking of trying some high temp gear oil. i had bg in it untill i had to pull the cv axles to drop the oil pan. i would like to try some red line oil. has anyone tried it in dsm trannies?

It would be hard to shift if it was overfilled. Did you fill it till it was about even with the fill hole that is the proper level anything more than that and its overfilled.

make sure your shift linkage is nice and tight on the tranny bracket. mine did the same, boggled my mind till someone looked under the hood and seen it flopping everywhere

I was talking to Mr. Sheppard about a week ago, about getting a tranny built, and he suggested to run 2 quarts of MTL Shockproof, the rest with pennzoil scyncromesh. I would like to think that he gives good advice.

Yeah I would think that Mr. Sheppards advice would trump all of ours on the subject of DSM trannys. But yeah you should check the linkage as well.

And by the way, regular ole 90 weight is too thick and may cause some whining. Especially if it's put in the transfer or rear end.
