I have a 95 gst and ever since it was broken into and my amp, subs and headunit were stolen the tail lights and instrument lights will not work. I have read quite a few post about this and yet still i have not found a solution. I grounded out the illumination and dimmer wires, installed a new head unit and it is still blowing fuses instantly when the head lights are on. Anyone have anymore advice or suggestions it would be great, i have to get my inspection coming up soon heh.

Thanks Kameron

I had the exact problem you are having. If you didn't already know or assume, the taillights and instrument lights are part of the same circuit along with your markers (little lights on your front bumper). I first traced my wires starting from the taillights to the drivers seat. If you don't find your short there, you should either pop out your radiator or lift your car to get to the wires that run from the external fuse box and under the radiator. This is where I found my problem. It sounds to me like the wiring for the taillights circuit has been bridged with another circuit. For me, it was my headlight circuit that was bridged with it. That means that wires have been crossed (accidentally due to corrosion or damage) and both are drawing power together and may be blowing your fuses because of it. So, in short, trace the wiring from the external fuse box and you SHOULD find your problem. This will take time and there aren't any short cuts I know of.
