after some research because of the inquiries on getting a ticket for tinted tail lights i have only come to find that i could not find such a law stating that they are specifically illegal in the state of iowa. The only main points i could find was that the tail lights still had to light up red and and be clearly visible to other drivers. This may vary from state to state, and this is not yet a fact so dont quote me but this is the only information that i could find on this topic. I have had several cops and sheriffs follow me and no ticket so far.

Yeah,I looked up the laws before I did it and all it said was they have to light up red and be visable from whatever distance.It was like so many feet but mine light up super bright still.
 
That's exactly what I want to do to mine, maybe not that dark though. So, if I pull mine off you'll paint them...right?
 
I've been driving my Talon with tinted tails for a couple years now. They don't mess with me, but they still light up like stock at night, and are still clearly visible in the day.

If you did get a ticket, it would probably be a rookie giving it to you, and you could easily dispute it.
