tail light help needed bad!

ok so last year i decided to try the nite shades on my tails and it turned out shitty so one of my buddies at the time decides to use paint thinner to get it off and it left the lenses a little rough feeling and white looking so now is there any way to save them maybe wet sanding then polishing or somthing?
