My 15a Fuse In The Ingine Bay Keeps Burning Out Any Suggestions? I Did Notice Some Water Marks In The Tail Lights Can That Be The Cause Of It?

it could. take a small drill bit and drill a hole in the botom of your tail light.

that will keep water from building up

replace the bulb and check the plug that the bulb plugs into.

positive wireing for the battery?

The positive wiring for the light. Every light, switch, etc has a positive and a negative (ground).

Pop the hatch, remove the two interior plastic pieces in the hatch to gain access to the tail lights. Pull each bulb.
Examine the wires that run to each bulb socket for any corrosion or bare wire(s).
Bare wires meaning - is the colored coating of the wire stripped, cut or pulled back exposing the copper wire?

While you're at it, get some electrical cleaning spray, and clean the sockets. If you're replacing the bulbs, get some bulb grease (sold at Auto Zone for like $.99/packet).

As for water in the tail light, these things are notorious for that (except mine, knock on wood). Like mentioned before, take that tail light out, drill a small hole in the bottom of it. This will act as a drain to let moisture out of the plastic casing.

WARNING: whatever you do...If you can't seem to correct this fuse blowing problem. Please, please DO NOT put a larger fuse in the tail light fuse slot. And DO NOT stick a penny in there (yes, I've seen someone do this once. He no longer has his MR2 because it caught fire). :nono:

If a fuse is popping, it's because there's a problem somewhere in the wiring. A bad ground, or a positive wire touching metal or water or something it shouldn't be touching.

Basicaly when i turn on the lights there is a poping sound.. but that might be the fuse going out... do you think it could be my switch that turns on my headlights? Also to be more detailed.. there is no GAURD WHARE the wheel is and it has bin raining... also MY lights do turn on

THE only thing is my taillights DONT stay on but when i brake the light do turn on.. and MY dashboard Lights whare the speed reads dont turn on.

I had this problem once in a different car.

The harness for the bulbs was grounding out against a chassis screw and actually melted the plastic backing a little bit.

Electrical problems can be absolute nightmares. Basically you're going to have to trace through all of the wiring for the tail lights, obviously something isn't right somewhere.

As for the inner fender well guard, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My driver's side hasn't had one since the first day I owned my car. Although, on the passenger side, up in the fender well, there is a ground harness that's bolted to the body. There's a few grounds there, never found out what they were for, though.

I doubt it's your headlight switch, but I wouldn't rule it out just yet.

The dash lights that aren't turning on makes sense, also. They run on the same wiring as the tail lights. (When you turn the headlight switch one click, the dash lights, tail lights, side markers all come on). The headlights work because they run on a different fuse.

The popping sound you're hearing is probably the fuse blowing, like you said.

I have complete wiring diagrams for these cars, I'll have to dig them up for you if you need any.

yes bro that would be great.

We had this problem on my buddy's 1gb. He has a FMIC and the brackets that hold it up mount to the radiator brackets. It just so happens that the turn signal light socket is right in front of this. Over time it had rubbed the wire raw and started shorting it out making the fuse blow and the signals non-operational front and rear. I would pull out all of your tail light and headlight assemblies and make sure no wires are shorting out behind them. Replace all of you bulbs and go from there.
