hey guys,
im putting in a new 7 bolt becuase mine went boom. nevertheless its a 7 bolt with 35,000 on it and i want to do the t3/t4 setup. ive found a kit that comes with all needed parts { turbo/ex mani/ext wastegate/all gaskets etc.} and also off of extreme psi the dsm fuel management system { safc, inkectors, pump.} what im wondering is what else do you guys think i should get or put into this engine before i drop this engine in. supporting mods will be n1 DP and exhaust, and greddy big front mount kit and and type s bov. any suggestions? iam open for any and all opinions. and on the t3/t4 garrett, do i need any special oil lines? right now on my blown motor i have an evo 3 16g, and i was wondering if could use anything off of that. I.e coolant, oil lines, bolts, ss oil line etc. and how hard is it to make an oil cooler, becuase i have a oil cooler and would like to use it. also i would like to find out where i can get AN fittings to use on this new turbo and anywhere else i can { i beilve there called an fittings, there red and blue, if im wrong please let me know}
thanks guys,
Ron

Which turbo kit are you getting? Most if not all T3/T4 do not use coolant lines, so you can loop those. Other than that your supporting mods seem right. I assume you have basic gauges (at least boost and I would get an EGT), and you will also be needing an upgraded clutch if you have not done so already. Let me know exactly what fittings and how much line and which oil cooler you use, and how you installed it if you get that working.

Off the top of my head, you'll need...
FPR, boost controller, gauges - wideband, boost, and egt's come to mind, a datalogger of some sort. FYI, DSM link is a fuel/timing tuning device and logger wrapped in one

You can get AN fittings here: http://www.anplumbing.com/shop/

Make sure you size your injectors big enough for the turbo, and lastly...try to put a 6-bolt block in there instead of that 7-bolt.

Good Luck! :thumb:

FPR? fuel pressure regulator im guessing, i have a boost controller, gauges as well, wideband im guessing is an o2 sensor? i would like to do either the greddy profec or the avc-r for boost control. i will be upgrading injectors and pump and have a saf2 to control with. where can i research this dsmlink? in your opinion is the dsmlink a more powerful tool the a afc2?
