H,
Have a quick question. Just got my 96 at gsx running with the new t28 turbo and the only other mods are full exhaust and greddy bov. I was wondering if its ok to run this way on stock fuel, and I'm assuming I should get a MBC in order to keep boost down. What would be a safe amount of boost to run for this combo?

Well the reason I was asking is the first time that I got on it after installing the bigger turbo boost shot up over 20, and just moderately being on the gas it will run at 15psi. Does this mean I don't have the stock wastegate? Also, what is the 17psi actuator?

this link should help. (make sure you are reading about the 2g, and not the 1g)

I personally have a big 16g and run 12psi with just a re wired stock pump, and thats only cause thats what i heard from people is a safe amount. It all depends on your setup and how well your motor is. My buddy has a 16g and runs 15psi and his dsmlink doesn't show any knock. Do yourself a favor and do the fuel upgrades along with some form of datalogging or tuning.:thumb:

You will be fine running your current setup. I would run it on stock wastegate pressure, which is 12psi. That's safe amount of boost and you would not have to use a mbc.

Only slightly correct. The stock boost is 12psi, but the stock waste gate pressure is 7.

Most FP t28's come with a 17psi wastegate.

Ok, so I guess I would assume mine did as well. One question, I am looking to buy an MBC, but the price ranges are pretty wide. My buddy told me to just get one from one of the major sellers on ebay, but does it make a difference which one i get? I found one on there for 19.99 and they had very good feedback, but I just wanted to make sure I don't waste my money.

Sorry if this has been asked, but when searching about MBCs, something like 50 pages worth of stuff came up, and I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Check my blog section in a few weeks for "Project NTR" for suggestions on an easy route around tuning.

Ok, so since I can't set my MBC lower than 17psi, do I definitely need fuel upgrades and tuning software to be safe?
