Well, I bought this T25 turbo from a guy at work. I Know i need like and exhaust manifold, and down pipe, and charge piping. How do I control the boost on this thing though? He said it is set to 12psi stock, and im 100% sure thats way too much for my little honda. Please dont burn on me because this is going on a honda, and its not a honda forum. Im new at this stuff and i just want some advice. thanks

Oh, and this is the turbo manifold i think im getting, if it matters

youll need a boost controler to control the boost.I don't know what you'll need to manage the fuel and the extra air in your honda.Try the honda-tech forum, they might be able to give you more info.

Theres acouple options. You could either eliminate the wastgate actuator and run an external wastegate, or you could look into an actuator arm that is set to open under a less amount of pressure. I have heard of both so they are ou there somewhere. The external wastegate is very common though. Call up HAHN and tell em what you need and they can get you a price on external wastegates.

A boost controller can not lower boost past the set pressure of the wastegate.

WTF That was a joke right?

As a rule, I generally don't help Honda owners, but since this is a DSM forum... You'll need to either perform a wastegate mod, or eliminate the internal wastegate and run an external wastegate set up in order to lower the boost.

A boost controller can only raise or lower the boost above what the internal (non-adjustable) wastegate is set at. For instance, if the stock wastegate is a 12 psi wastegate, a boost controller can raise boost infinitely, but it can only lower the boost to 12 psi.

By adding a spring to the internal wastegate arm (do a search on it, it's been covered before), you can increase tensile pressure on the actuator, thereby decreasing the amount of boost needed to open the wastegate. Most external wastegates are adjustable to your preference, so that's always another option.

A boost controller wont help if he wants to go below 12psi. But i do belive its probably set closer to 10psi right now if it stock. If you wanted to run a lower psi you would have to change your internal wastegate. Im not to sure on how you can do this but i think you can change a spring inside, but like i said, im not sure and I havent messed around with any internal wastgates myself. Hopefully someone else on here can give you more direct info.

It looks like for 30 extra bucks you can have them put an external wastegate on the manifold.Im sure you can find a 38mm wastegate for under $200.Unless your on a strict budget I would go that route.
