T25/T28 SS Oil Feed Line: Size and Fittings? Help!

I started to install my Big28 today. The two halfs of the oil feed line will not connect for some reason. It will thread in maybe 2 turns, then just pops right out. I tihnk something may be crossthreaded, so I'd like to get an ss oil feed line made at a hydraulic shop.

But I have no idea what to tell them. What fittings do I need? WHat size? What legnth? Anything else?
