T-25 for 420a help

Hey do you have to use the water lines on the T-25 when you put it in a 420a or do i need to rig up some coolantlines?

Water lines are only mandatory on ball bearing turbos which do not have enough oil flow to cool the turbo in a hot shutdown situation.

Most diesel turbos do not use water cooling at all because they operate at a lower overall temperature. When using one of these turbos on a DSM (most Garrett T3's, BW's, and Holsets) you are OK as long as you allow the engine to idle before shutting the turbo down so the turbo is not starved for oil or shut down hot, causing oil to coke around the turbine seal. Either of these would cause the turbo to fail prematurely.

Plenty of guys are using water-cooled MHI turbos (14B's, 16G's) without the water hooked up and they work just fine as long as they're allowed to cool properly prior to shutdown.

Or just let the car idle for a second before you shut it down after boosting

can a T-25 even hold 20psi

but anyways one of my friends has a brand new 14g turbo off of a Starion imma get from him its a 465cfm compaired to the 265 or so on the T-25 and its more efficent than the 14b.
