I just bought a synapse bov and i was wondering if there was anyone who was actually running a synapse on a 2g dsm. Also i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for how i can actually install this on my excisting pipe. right now i have a greddy type rs bov and so my upper intercooler piping has the flange for that bov. i noticed that synapse has a adapter they make but of course they dont have any in stock and have no idea when they are going to be getting anymore of them in stock.

You need the adapter. I didnt look at your mods but you will also want to have the recirc kit if your using the stock maf. Well it really depends on your cams. I run the synapse and with 272s it is open at idle. With stock cams is stays closed. It dosent matter for me but it would matter if you were running a maf on your intake.

Ive heard they are poop because the diaphragm constantly needs lube. Just what ive read. Sell it & stick w/ what you got IMO. Many many many many BOV's out there.

i will be getting a anti stall kit for it because i still have the stock maf. as of right now i have a greddy type rs bov but it leaks at idle so if i have it unrecirculated my idle goes up and down. i wanted the synapse because it seems like a very intelligent design and i heard pretty good things about them. i would like to run open to the atmosphere because i absolutly love the sound of a bov when i shift. i know its not the best for performance thats why the bov came with a optional recirculation fitting so i can put it on for the track and take it off for normal driving. Eventually i will be getting a gm maf and translator but at the moment i hardly have any money to spend so i figured i could just get the anti stall kit for it and save up some money to get the gm maf and translator.

Why would you run your bov uncirculated??? That makes absolutely no sense and makes your car run like ass. You can still get a bov sound with it circulated. Wait until you actually get the gm maf to do it. It's so dumb that you would do that when there are countless threads telling you not too.

Where did you hear this from? I've heard nothing but good reviews on this BOV.

finally got the adapter for my synapse bov. installed it today and will post pics up shortly.

also, i ordered the anti-stall kit from synapse and should be here sometime next week. as for now it is recirculated.

I am finally getting ready to install my Synapse BOV, can you guys tell me how you have yours set-up? I heard the back 2 ports are for vacuum and the side port is for boost only. Where do I find the lines to T into for these.

I have the Greddy side mount piping also ready to install, has anyone tried this combo is there any fitment issues?

Thanks

They don't have ANY kind of diaphragm in them at all. What you've heard is completely wrong.

It is the FASTEST opening valve afaik and ready to go out of the box, no messing with springs or adjustments like "other" bov's. I've got one on my Colt and the response time and the amount of air they flow is insane.

i dont know about everyone else but i am having problems with mine. I keep having a flutter problem. It happens at about 1/4-1/2 throttle. I start boosting and when I hit 10-12 psi i get a huge surging. I tried different things with vac hoses and even removed the larger spring in the bov to try and cause it to react faster and hold open. I can only suspect that I should be refrencing boost pressure at the turbo outlet instead of right befor the tb. I will have to tap a hole and try that. I am running a t3/4bullseye on a built motor and I want to up the boost. I tried 20 today and the surge was even worse so I backed it off to 15. I am gett ing a little concerned. I placed the bov after the ic....i am wondering if I should have placed it before. :hmm:

take one apart and then talk again. I spoke to someone on another forum a while ago and they informed me. I took the larger one out. The center smaller one is the adjustable one.

first off i am running blow though and second i have a maft with a gm sensor. I have tried evry different hose setup I can think of except moving the hose away from the tb.

I have seen videos on these bov's and they are leaking air out the whole time, the only time it completly seals is when you step on it under load. At idle, the valve is open so it is constantly blowing the air out. If they are so good, then why arn't there any good reviews on them done by anyone reputible? Every "great review" on them is done by a synapse rep. How many pro racers, drifters etc do you hear using them? Have you ever seen one advertised ANYWHERE in any magazine? nope, the only place is youtube LOL. Constant boost leak isnt your friend LOL
