So I read through the 20 page "What BOV" thread and there's a lot of information of what everyone's running. Great. I was trying to find information on HKS SSQV vs Synapse vs Tial.

I'm currently running a GReddy RS that started to leak, I have it tweaked down as much as possible. It keeps leaking and I've determined that its the diaphragm. I don't want another GReddy or 1g and preferably no diaphragm BOVs.

I'd like to run something like a pull like the SSQV or the Synapse, but I've also heard the Tial is a good option, but I'm weary to run something with a diaphragm again. I have a GM MAF setup so I don't have to worry about recirculation.

I was wondering if there were simple pro/cons to each setup. I was just going to go with Tial, but 1) the diaphragm and 2) I saw a video with the response time of the Tial vs the Synapse.

My current setup is 20~22PSI on a SSAC FMIC with a FP T28 and I'll be shooting for 25~30 with FP 68HTA and a LAIC.

Edit:
I'm continuing to search on this subject. I found this thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/237488-hks-ssqv-tial-bov-vented-maft-setup.html
It looks like the order from slowest to fastest is HKS SSQV > Tial > Synapse
But it looks like the Synapse needs an anti stall kit, but that may be on the recirculated ones.

Again, more searching has revealed that the Synapse BOV doesn't do well during DD situations, such as releasing all pressure when letting off to allow for traffic. Again I'd just go with a Tial but I'm iffy about using diaphragms as the last 3 I've have had all developed holes and no longer hold boost under my regular driving conditions.

Right, I understand how the pull type sits on the seat, that's why I've been considering the SSQV/Synapse style, but this vehicle is not exactly a DD, but I do drive it around on the weekends, so I am still concerned about drive-ability. The more I read about the Synapse BOV the more I'm leaning towards the SSQV, but I still can't dismiss the Tial as an option.

Haven't had a problem with my TiAL yet. Are you opening up the BOVs at all before installing them? I know sometimes, especially with TiALs people pinch the diaphragm while putting the BOV back together which kills them. Otherwise I haven't heard too much about the diaphragms breaking.

The one's I've installed I've checked the diaphragm, but they get holes along the seams long after inspection. I've had 2 type-S's do this as well as the current RS. I will take that as a good word for the Tial. I'm still leaning towards the Tial unless there's an argument for the HKS.

edit: I know the HKS will not leak because of its design, I'm more thinking about the reaction time of the HSK vs Tial now. Thoughts/insight.

I had an ebay SSQV and it leaked because the internals turned out to be crap, but most have had good luck with genuine SSQVs though.

I, personally, went with a TiAL Q and couldn't be happier.

I have had a GReddy type s bov, 1g bov, RFL bov on the many different DSM's I have had. I am currently running on my spyder the new HKS SSQV and I am very happy with it and I love the sound even tho it does not really matter. I am also running the gm maf and MAF-T and have it vented, I have ran all the way to 25 psi and have had no leaks.

+1 HKS SSQV

Currently using Tial on Supra and HKS SSQV on EVO, I think they are Good products,
No Leak after 2 year
Love Tial , better sound hahaha

I installed my Q on the 18th and it's great under boost, but not to get the car rolling, coming to a stop, and it fouls the crap out of my plugs, quickly.

Are you having any of those problems?

Also, I am on the 2g maf unhacked.

And that is why you recirc. Everyone saying they "know a friend" whos car boosts fine needs to read that little statement LOL.
