Switching from Eibach to H&R Springs

Besides some rounding, the difference is that the specs you quoted are in degrees (ALT0176 on the keyboard to get that elusive ° symbol). The toe specs in the FAQ are in inches. If you do the math, I think you'll find they are close.

Glad you could sort that out for us. Makes much more sense now.
Thanks Ron.

WRT to converting toe values between inches and degrees, the "standard" is to assume something like a 28" tire, so the ratio is around 2:1. In other words, every quarter inch of toe is equal to half a degree.

Does anyone have definitive info on the H&R OE springs?

Thanks,

Tomas

Definitive as in numbers? I doubt it since spring testers are not cheap enough for the average DSMer to buy and keep in the garage. What are you looking to infer from the numbers anyhow? If you would like to know about subjective "feel" of the spring I think you'll find the oe sport to be very well liked, especially when paired with koni sport dampers. If you're looking for drop, it's spelled out pretty clearly in this thread. If you want my opinion, the oe sports are the best lowering spring you can buy for your DSM. Pair them with Koni "yellows" and you'll be happy.

What I'm looking for is spring rates, either measured or from the manufacturer.

This is the first time I've looked at Koni yellows.
The dampers can be adjusted and the spring perch can be adjusted too?
Wow not bad, the spring perch starts at stock height I'm assuming and can then be moved down?? Can it be moved up as well to provide a lift in case the springs start to sag?

**UPDATE**

Bringing back an old thread for the purpose of an important update. It turns out that the springs discussed in this thread which I thought were OE Sports are actually the H&R Race springs. Although the original invoice clearly lists p/n 52962-55 OE Sport, the springs that were drop shipped to me were the Race springs. For anyone looking at the above pics please keep this in mind. To those who thought the drop seemed awfully low for OE Sports (including myself), now we know why.

Thanks to Artago for his keen eye. He noticed that the pics of the springs in my recently posted classified ad didn't appear to match the item description. :)

Another thing that might be helpful to some is my opinion on how the Illumina's paired up with the H&R's. At the time I thought they worked fairly good. Since then I've experienced a few more DSM's with differing suspension set ups and I will now say that they do NOT match up very well. The springs are too stiff and too low for the Illumina's. The shocks did, however, hold up pretty well. They seem very durable.

Good info Romeen. I've been trying to figure out if I can make the H&R OE Sports work on an AWD platform. They only seem to make the OEs for the FWD DSMs. Has anyone heard of an AWD DSM running H&R OE Sports?

Short answer: Yes

Your question should be where can one get these springs?...
