swap question..

i have a 99 eclipse 420a motor. i dont have the money for a turbo and engine rebuild, so my question is...
could i get a spyder 2.4 motor and swap it with my 2.0?
if so would it be worth it? and what would i have to do in order to do the swap? (set up, mounts, etc)

It would be as much work as putting a 4g63 in it.
Probably would be easier and cheaper to turbo the 420A.

Turbo'ing a 420a is MUCH less work than doing a 4g63 swap.

You can always swap in a 2.4l cloud car block, I believe you have to use your head from the 2.0l head though

Search the site for cloud car block.
Make sure you search "titles only" it really makes your search better.

but it depends on what power he wants to make i belive correct me if im wrong a 420a on boost makes 300or a little more ive seen some crazy stuff done with the 2.4 single cam expamle boosting those arent bad and also puting an evo 8 head on it too and there your mods could be endless

Are you saying he should put an evo 8 head on a 420a?
Maybe I'm just reading your post wrong.
But you can not put an evo anything on a 420a.
If I just miss read this post, sorry I just wanted to clear it up before thing went down hill.
Or are you saying, he should put an evo 8 head on a Mitsubishi 2.4 from the spyder?
In this thread people are talking about a 2.4 from a Chrysler cloud car, not a Mitsubishi 2.4.

But an evo 8 motor can be swapped in, as the mounts are nearly the same. Some will argue its to close to one side...but it will mount in there.
