Swain Tech vs HP Coatings

Not all ceramic is the same, from experience with what we use thicker is actually not good as that will actually cause the ceramic to flake off. We've done testing on several brands of ceramic and have something that works, but yes there are ceramics out there that simply don't work and change color and flake off.

Swain Tech and HP coatings are both great companies that have done lots of research to give the customer something that works.

We get alot of requests for the "chrome" ceramic here, the "chrome" ceramic is only good up to 1,200 degrees F which is not suitable for turbocharged applications. Alot of people don't know this, and companies won't tell you this unless you ask.

How old was the "old 50 trim" I want to have the turbine coated for my new HX40

4k miles old. Developed in and out play but no side to side. Sent it back in and they said it overheated or something. Blue on shaft. Subsequently, they lost my turbo along with the turbine housing.

Does anybody know how the thickness of this compares to header wrap? I currently have my O2 sensor housing wrapped and I had to cut some of the exhaust wrap in order to use my special socket tool. Its a standard 3/8" drive O2 sensor removal tool but wouldn't fit in there completely. I wanted to get my turbo hotside and ebay O2 coated with Swaintech's White Lightning coating but I didn't want to run into install issues. I also have the ebay exhaust manifold but there is no way I would fit the exhaust studs through it with it coated due to the poor design.
