Alright so my dreams have been crashed. Of course most of you all told me I could never run with the 20g turbo anyways. So I'm forced to work with the 16g from HAHN. So what I'm wondering is because i'm rebuilding the engine anyways at least JE 8.8:1 pistons and Crower forged rods. what kind of boost could I run with the 16g? HAHN used to say they ran 15 psi before they upgraded to the better Crower forged rods but then they switched to the 20g. So I'm wondering with the forged internals could I run more then 15 psi?

oh yeah the reason my dreams crashed forgot to mention LOL. My college program that was supposed to pay all my college (which would allow me to make money off going to college because of other scholarships) decided to only pay half so I'm forced to work with half the money I was going to use towards my car.

Why would your dreams be crashed? The 20G upgrade is not that much more and if you want to go with it later HRC will upgrade your turbo to a 20G for a fee. If you are building the motor you should be able to handle 15psi easy. I would not guess about boost levels but rather get the car on a dyno and tune it to the desired boost level. Good luck man and happy boosting.

well I could go with the 20G I suppose. But I wouldn't be able to run the boost levels I would want too. I probably won't be able to afford the msd ignition, better axles, etc. I would probably need to run the 20G up to its potential. I might get the 20g and not run high boost levels though.

I have heard that you can run anywhere from 18-21 psi on the S16 before it starts huffing and puffing hot air.
How much boost are you running? By the way nice setup thats about what I'm probably going to go for. How do you like the cams you're running? I've heard mixed opinions.

Thanks for the compliment.

Well the car has not been running for 3 months cause I scavenged a few parts off of it for my silver 97 GS that I am trying to sell.

I installed the 034EIC 8 injector setup about 1 week before the DSM Shootout in Aug and was tuned to 12psi to start. The car was stored for winter shortly after the Shootout, so I never retuned for higher boost.

I have about 650cc worth of fuel to play with, so when the car comes out again in spring, I will tune to about 18 psi for the street and 20+ at the track hopefully.

Just get the 20G and get it over with or 25G... I had the 16G and now I got the 20G.. What a waste of money buying two turbos.. The 16G is on ebay right now search under 420a....
