Sunroof Problems (kind of long)

Hey guys, my sunroof stopped working about 6 months ago. I haven't really cared because I'm kind of a function over form guy. I care more about speed mods than luxuries like the pw, pdl, and the sunroof. But now it is starting to cool down around here and I'd like to get it working again.

I was on the hwy and I went to close the thing. It closed almost all the way but got stuck about an inch from the front position and obviously the back didn't sit down either. I took it apart and manually cranked it shut. My dad is an engineer (handy to have around) and he helped me test it. It would not move at all. We took the glass off of the mechanism and we saw that the two sides don't move at the same time/speed. We tested further and researched the mechanism and found that it was not the motor or clutch. We also know that it is not physically damaged in any way. We found that it was the control module that regulates the speed and positions of the two sides of the sunroof.

Has anyone else had this problem? How much is the fix?

This may or may not help but mine would get about an inch or two from closing and stop and open again. I removed the glass and could see the cables that run along the inside edge had a bit of rust. After a bit of WD-40 it worked flawlessly. The cables can easily be seen by standing on the door foot plate (by the seat) and looking across at the other side along the vertical track you can see the cable moving as you operate the window.
