I'm thinking like a high strength liquid nail or something. Anyone experience this?

Whatever I use, it has to hold up to pretty high as well as low temps.

The degradation of the foam rubber underneath the vinyl surface is most likely the cause. Being such, an adhesive would just adhere to the already bad foam rubber and not create a lasting bond. I don't think there is a cheap way to repair this that will last but a super strong adhesive may be able to get the vinyl edge to stick for a little while but I think it would be temporary at best.

Thanks for the links...seems the best stuff to use is the DAP stuff...which can't be sold in the state of Delaware, LOL. :ohdamn:

I've seen where they ripped the foam stuff out and actually painted the metal. It was black and looked very sharp.

I would like to see a picture?
It seems like it just wouldn't look right.:hmm:

The the OP you could try one of the unorthodox methods of repair.
These are from the 1st link I posted.
This was my fix. I'm sure its not the best method but it worked. I put the screws in every 2 inches and covered them with black snap caps.
The picture wouldn't come up of this one, but it looks pretty good.^

Used a screw with a decent size washer and put it right on the bottom under the glove box door. Cant see it, and it looks pretty good. I tried every glue and nothing worked. Just got that little dimple, right above where the screw is.

Its like that in my parts car out back. It looked like it was pulled out and done right. I don't have a computer and tuners wont let me upload from my phone. ( im a cheapass and wont spend 99 cents on forum runner LOL).

I might do it to mine. IMO looks better than factory shi& coming apart. Different strokes for different folks.

Thanks for posting this, now mine is going to start peeling up. Seems like every time I read something like this it happens to me.

You're saying they pulled the padded stuff off and painted the metal behind it?

...I guess I would have to see a pic of that...I just can't see that looking good.

I'm not able to get my hands on Dap Weldwood Landau top and trim adhesive...but I did find some plain Dap Weldwood. I think I'm going to give it a shot. It's supposed to be stronger than the 3M 90...whatever. We'll see, I guess.
