ok i just decided to take my 90 talon tsi awd to the shop (JE Import performance) and i started it just fine to load it on the trailer and i hauled it about 3 hours on the interstate. upon arrival to shop i went to start car and i had no compression at all it sounded like i had all the plugs out trying to start it?????????????? i'm hoping something may have rattled loose on the ride because the roads in maryland are terrible!!!! but any thoughts would help. thanks

Considering that was about as vague of a description as possible, with zero diagnosis on your behalf, I'll answer like this- I could list off every possible cause to a no start, as well as every possible cause to loss of compression, however, it won't do either of us any good until you physically go look at the car and find out if you have the 3 keys to starting (spark, fuel, and air). I highly doubt anything rattled loose that would cause a loss of compression.

You just had all this work done, you better hope nothing just rattled loose. That's not a good things bro things should be done properly if your paying someone to do critical work. You better figure it out and take lots of photos and handle things properly so you might find a way to get a new motor. Sound like the timing was set incorrectly or cheap parts were used and timing jumped resulting in your lost compression! And can you explain the reason for going to this shop and what all was fixed or installed? Thx

i didnt really have time to find a diagnosis i was dropping it off to the shop, i was just trying to get some ideas of what could have happened since the shop hasnt called me yet.

and kauai my car started fine at my house to load it and when i got to shop to drop it off is when i had the problems. im sure they will call me tomorrow about what happened but i was just trying to get an idea of what im looking at paying to have fixed??????

Well the timing can jump just that easy could of happen right as you turned the car off or on. Do this try taking a 1/2" ratchet and spin the motor by hand clockwise, this is to see if it spins freely. Also how do you know you have no compression? Did you test this already? Any other test yet? Leakdown test?

Like I said, it could be anything. Let me go get out the FSM and dig through every sensor, every bolt, every wire related to the engine and tell you. It could be a $.10 fuse or a $2,000+ engine rebuild. Take your pic of the spectrum and judge from there. Until the shop has done a diagnosis of what actually happened you might as well throw pennies at the wall as that's about all the use it'll be.
