sub problem i think

alright...my sub doesn't work after i put it up to a certain volume...its worked fine until last week and now ocne I put it up it just stops bumpin and there is no bass at all....Ive had someone tell me that my amp isnt big enough for the sub but It has to be cuz its been workin for the last 3 months Ive had it in...its a 12" sony xplod and a 480W amp....ive gone through all the wires and made sure they are in and everything looks good....

Could be a bad amp. Sony mobile audio isn't known to be great within the industry. Been there done that.

Could be your power source to the amp too. Crappy small cable not flowing enough juice etc.

Most likely bad amp. Hook your sub up to someone else's amp and see what happens. Hook your amp to someone else's sub and see what happens.

Didn't you ever learn process of elimination in grade school science class??

when you turn the volume back down does the sub kick back in... or does the amp need to be reset. It sounds like something is tripping in the amp.

yeah when I turn it back down to abuot 25 it kicks back in then when I turn it up to 29 or 30 it starts cuttin out...i don't know how the amp could be bad...it wasn't but last week it worked perfect.today I took all the wires and put them back in to check if it was them....and its not it still cuts out

all it means it that ur amp is overheating. what i have done to my amp and my friends amp, is remove the back plat of the amp, and have a computer case fan blowing on it. u can run it off of ur amp power and it will make ur problem go away
