ok, well i bought this TSI for CHEAP a while back that had a bunch of parts on it, but the body was trashed...so i have taken all the aftermarket parts off the car and now have it back to stock. i was out driving it today for the first time since i bought it and for some reason when im making the transition into boost the motor stutters like its got a 2 stage rev limiter. it doesnt matter what rpm, but its only when im putting a load on the motor. I can drive normal and rev the motor throughout the rpm range without a problem, but the second i put a load/go into boost it stutters bad.

Any Ideas????

Its just about out of gas, but im pretty sure that isnt the problem, unless its some bad gas. Like i said the car was trashed when i bought it, so i have no idea what kind of gas was run through it. Thats about the only thing i can think of

I have no idea how it drove before i got it, it had a big t3t4, 780 inj and dsm link on it when i bought it. And it was never tuned so it ran like shit to begin with, so i never even attempted to boost on it to see this problem

Hey maybe try do a boost leak test to start off, that way if there are any leaks throughout the intercooler piping and such, you will find em and fix em. Since you say it happens when hitting boost, definitely could be that. Why not fill up on some good gas to make sure it's not as simple as that first though! Check plugs, wires etc if you haven't already. Those would be some easy first things to check out. Hope this helps a little.

I think you have a boostleak. Look in the "how to" guide, it'll show you the procedure for boostleak test. You should listen carefully for hissing sounds around intercooler piping, TB gasket, injector seals, so on and so on. Its all there. I'm sure thats your problem:thumb:

cool, thanks yea i have had all the piping, intercooler, tb elbow, injectors, turbo, and just about everything to do with a boost leak off the car, so yea thats probabally what it is. Ill check on that next weekend. its throwin some kind of code, not sure what yet, but it runs perfect other than this stutter problem

If it is throwing a code, maybe you should also check to make sure your mas and MAS plug are hooked up correctly. That would definitely mess up your car's performance. I don't think that a boost leak will throw a code, at least never did for me, but if the plug for the MAS is not hooked up right or something is loose with that, it will throw a code.
MAS---mass airflow meter.

cool, yea i know for a fact the MAS is plugged in, but ill double check to make sure all the wires in there are connected. I also checked all the vaccum lines, and they were all good. ill have to take it up to autozone and check the code for me. Its always fun working out the bugs on these things.... jeezzzz

yeah bro its more than likely a boost leak so go about a leak test first. and if that aint your problem then take a look at the MAF. i had the same problem with my car when i got it and it ended being a boost leak at the TB.

check your spark plug wires. i had the same problem before and did all of the above still have the problem. after getting headaches and thinking. i finally found that my spark plug wires was arching under load. as soon as i changed those and it ran good as new. heres a link to the common problem. scroll down a bit and observe the spark plug connector. let us know if it was it. Good luck.:thumb:
