2G Stuck Bearing Race in trans

I have a race that's stuck in my trans case and I need it. There is a little space at the bottom of the race that I can get something into to prey but I am having no luck getting it out.

Any ideas?

The aluminum will expand more with heat, so use a torch to warm it all up before you apply force to separate them. The trick even works if they were both steel, but much better with these two metals.

Which one. Several aren't press fit it just appears they are

Even that isn't necessary on the non press fit. I use two 16 penny nails or two hinge pins as levers underneath. Takes almost no effort. Any race where the case has reliefs is not a press fit amd they are easy. If you get the race stock tap it back down and try again.

This one wasn't press fit, the one in my other trans came out no problem in the same spot, this trans I had to heat it up and to came out easy.

I also have a very small slide hammer and I custom stacked some washers on the end with a ground lip to get under the races. Works good for the input shaft clutch end

In the future you can use this bearing race removal tool (Miller 9664) on homemade slide hammer.
