I recently purchased a stroker kit to stroke the motor to 2.3L. The block has been machined and ready for assembly. Eagle forged rods and weisco forged pistons at .040 over compliment the kit. I want this car to be a beast at the track but driveable on the street. I have a PTE 52 trim off of a friends Syclone good for 600 hp on a dsm. I want some advice on what type of headwork i should get to make the whole package work. Thanks for the space and sorry for the lengthy post.

you bought the stroker kit for more displacement resulting in increased flow, so i would port to the best of your ability. i dont know if your running a stock head now, but when i ported mine, there are nasty hulls inside the bowls, i spent most of my time on those alone and noticed a nice increase in flow with just those honed down . are you doing this your self? or buying a built head from somewhere? another thing you could do is call like bj's and ask them what stage of head they recommend on there stroker motors..

currently the head is stock and the motor is out for the rebuild. The guys here in NJ at DSMotorsport are running 10.8? on a stock head...so either way...thanks for the advice. If i get it done it will be from them or another machine shop.

I asked BJs the same question last year for a 1G. I told them low and midrange was just as important as top end. I had heard that just a clean up (stage 1) or a mild port (stage 2) would be fine, but they suggested stage 3.
