Ok, just got the block back from the machine shop and starting to reassemble it. I have the rings set and rods/pistons together, my problem is the service manual says to match the numbers on the connecting rods (bottom and top pieces) and install, nothing else. There are no numbers so Im hoping the machine shop, which is what every mechanic around here uses set them right so Im leaving those how they are, but on the portion directly above the spot where the bearings/crank sits in the rod there is a little half centimeter groove on both sides of the rod, does that get positioned to the front, or back of the block, or doesnt it matter? Please let me know as soon as possible.
, Im able to do anything you could ever think of for exterior and interior modification but Im teaching myself how to rebuild a motor with this because it had broke down, so far so good, and all the help is greatly appricated!
