stock intercool piping question

I have a 95 GST, it still has the stock side mount intercooler with the rubber intercooler piping. I have always heard the this rumor that they can collapse under heavy acceleration and loose boost. Is this true? And if it is does anybody make a stock intercooler metal tube kit? thanks

You can check out dejonpowerhouse, they make a nice upper intercooler piping to run to the stock side mount location. I personally use their piping and can't complain. Looks good, performs good, fits perfectly.

They don't collapse, they balloon a little bit and it isn't a big deal. A bigger deal is your bov which I almost guarantee leaks if it is original. Road Race Engineering and Dejon powerhouse both have upper intercooler pipes that will help performance and can be flanged for different BOVs. The 1g BOV is usually considered the standard for mild to medium power and is both versatile and durable.
