I am looking to replace my tires on my stock 16" rims. I want to get a good year round tire since I live in IL, but if im going to pay for new tires, I want to get some good ones that can perform well and are rated higher. Does anyone have any suggestions on what tire to get?

If driven in snow Dunlop SP5000's, If not driven in snow Dunlop FM901's. Both of these are relatively inexpensive, I actually autocrossed for a year on the FM901's, the SP5000's are more of a "touring" tire but have good grip in the snow, I have them on my Mazda and had them on my A4, very good in the snow with AWD. The FM901's should NOT be used in the snow...unless you like drifting

:p

Yeah, thats the thing. I almost went into 2 curbs tonight (S-turns suck with fresh snow). I just started going into the turn, and the ass end starts to kick out and, oops, im slidding. I have one good tire cause i hit a nail about a year ago, the others are from the previous owner, and they suck. Theres hardly any tread left.

I was thinking of getting the Kumho 711's. They are pretty cheap and look like a good tire. I was also thinking of the goodyear RSAs, which I guess are what come stock on AWD models.

I have had good luck with Dayton HR tires as a year round "performance" tire they worked well the past two winter snow we had, and are really good in the rain too.

They are plenty sticky for me.

Tread wear has been good for me too, are lasting a lot longer than I thought they would too. I put about 40,000 miles on them since last April.

Go with the falken 451s or the 512s both are excellent tires and I highly recomend them. Im here in wi and have ran them in the snow. It will be interesting to see how the azenis hold in the snow. If not falkens, nittos are always a good choice as well.

My Yokohama DBS2s are pretty nice. All-season (not bad in snow this year), good price, decent wear rating, fairly sticky, and fairly stiff sidewall. A nice all-round compromise.
