So I am swapping to a 1g rack in my car and removing my leaking 4ws rack. The position of the gear where the steering column attaches to the rack is slightly off in position between the two racks. Does it slide on in only one position, or do I have to fidget with it? What is the proper way to make sure it is lined up?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am going to be going at this in the morning. Thanks!

Lucky for you, I did this to my GVR4.

(Kinda) I bolted the whole subframe in (with the roller mount).

There is just a standard gear on the part that the column bolts too.
Much like the steering wheel. One bolt and you can pry it out.

Honestly, all I did was zerod it out the best I could and put the steering wheel on the correct way.

However I'm sure a shop with a laser alignment machine will be able to help you more, but you should be okay by just eying it up.

So even if it is a tooth or so off it will fit together at the rack properly? If so, would it be possible to reset the steering wheel once it is all together anyways?
