start-up question??

Hi, I would like to know after I bolt the rear main seal plate in place, Is there a way that I could start the car up without the transmission to see if the new seal will start leaking or not. Or is this process simplely a trial and error

Personally, i would not try and start it up without the trans in it....not even sure if that is possible. If it is a new seal, it should not leak if you put it on correctly without scratching it.

As long as the flywheel is on you could start it. The trans will not make a difference. But as mentioned earlier, as long as you did the seal correctly you should be fine.

I sure hope I did because I had no pic's to go by. I made sure the seal was level before I installed it but, I may have put it in backwards
