I am trying to figure out if there is any part of this website that will help me tune my 1988 Starion 2.6T. If anyone knows where I can look please let me know. Or if there isn't to much on this site can someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

YES! Duct tape! Gotta love teh duct tape.

Don't hate on the duct tape... that stuff is bulletproof if you layer on about five pieces of it together. LOL

I do not remember the specific measurement, but it was certain year D50's and mostly ausie/JDM blocks. Also if you get the small main '64 you can swap the internals from a normal 6 bolt '63.

I had a bunch of pics but got rid of them after I got rid of the car.

I started the project well over a year ago, actually closer to 2 years ago. I had it on the road for 3 months. I just got tired of going through trannies like butter. I did run a dual stage controller the last time, and pumped 18 PSI and blew apart 5th gear... :sneaky: :thumb: The rear end squatted like mad for a second though...

Hp... yeah... ok... more than enough probly well over 800 and D/D reliability at that level...

hey guys, i have a buddy with a 86 fully built from block to head starion with a t3/t4 garret that is in need of tuning. he is planning to install a S-AFCII before he takes it to dyno. i need some info. on the 86 Mitsu. Starion ecu. i need to know the wiring diagram to how to install a S-AFC II on. if anyone can lead me to a site or show me some pictures that would be great.

There's a Mitsubishi Starion/Chyrsler Conquest in a junkyard near where I live. From the looks of the engine, most of it is intact. The only thing I noticed missing was the intercooler. My question is, is there anything useful from this car that can be transplanted onto a 2g 4g63? Things like the turbo, the throttle body, injectors, etc? I read in a StarQuest forum that the turbos are actually smaller than the 14b I have on now, but just in case, I'm asking here.

If anyone knows of any parts that are transferrable, let me know. I may just go out there this spring with some tools and grab a few things might work. Hopefully they have larger injectors, since that would help me out a bit in my future modifications.

I was thinking about that, actually. It was just hanging there. Well, it was either the oil cooler or a tranny fluid cooler. I'd probably use it for tranny fluid, since I took out my tranny fluid cooling loop for my intercooler install. Do you happen to know how big the injectors would be on these cars? If they're larger than 450's I'll probably go take them out and see how much the junkyard wants for them.

they have throtle body injection, thats why they arent as modable as dsm's
there is a primary, and a secondary injector, thats it.
it was a very inefficient design

I agree with one inj. at 980ish cc and ther other around 500, neither injectors are good at all, they are known to lock up and die very easily.

I have had 2 conquests and the only thing i could think of motor wise would be the intercooler. Who wants a 12a on their 4g63?

Throttle body injection? Weird. I did not know that. :) Next time I'm out there, I'll take a closer look at it. Cool.

Well, I knew it was probably a long shot, but it was worth a try. Thanks anyway, everyone. If anything else comes to mind, feel free to let me know.

You should buy the car anyway.....they are capable of making some pretty good power with the right mods. I have had 2 and I loved them. Fix 'er up

So theres a conquest for sale and im kinda intrested in its an 88 with a new crate motor and 16g turbo crane cams msd ignition the jet valve has been removed and bored 40 over.
I dono he wants 1500 for the which is decent I just dont know if they can put down the numbers a 1g or 2g turbo can Ive looked at some sites but nothing has really inpressed me

I have owned 2 starquests and they are fun cars but in all honesty doller for doller a dsm is better for performance do to the fact that the G45B is SOHC with 8 valves and its hard to find parts for one if it breaks. One big plus in my book is the RWD but i guess you can always do a 4g63 swap in to one then you would have the best of both worlds:dsm: :rocks:

I'm going to miss my dsms but I'm excited about my new project car an 89 starion
here is my plans, If you have and advise fill free to post
4g63 mated to a t5 trans( 5 speed from a mustang) still going to run my dsm link and swaping in the eclipse dash so that all my gages will work right,
that the short of it
from what I here about the Starion they are a great handling car and I miss having RWD
might even try out this new drifting fad
here is a completed engine swap and he has started on the dash swap looks like fun!!!
