My friend Chris wants his car turbo'd asap. And so I feel like he should try the star turbo kit, anyone know where he can purchase it at for the best price and customer service?

Did search on here . Most say they are history . Not even on ebay !

Looks like $2400 and up for what is available . That is a turbo car in itself .

All he'd have to do is wait to have the intercooler pipes made.

FYI: this isn't my idea of a turbo kit I would get, I like brand new parts, and would probably take my time when it comes to building a kit anyways.

If he did it right, and custom made his own kit, he could have all the parts at his door in 2weeks, and after all the custom stuff is built, he'd be boosted in 3weeks total.

Star is out of business. If he wants a pre-made kit, I would say go with Hahn. I haven't heard too many bad things about it and looks like good quality. Also they have a working tech support if you have questions or problems.

Otherwise if he wants to build his own, go with thestreetsource on ebay. Their "kit" is pretty well made and many people use their products on here. You will need some extra stuff to get it going, but it includes most of the essentials to get you started.

EDIT:
BigRand, I don't know if I would trust that guy selling that kit. That auction has been discussed on 2GNT and most of those pics are from some other person's auction.

Downpipe and I/C plumbing will be the most difficult item to build/fab/find. I think you should try going the custom route. Read the write-up by Chris (GSgoinfast) and check out what parts you need.
