Recently ive had a new issue come up. Intermittently, while driving I'll hear a squeaking that sounds like brake squeak. It doesn't necessarily only happen while I'm applying the brakes though, but I only hear it at slow speeds (<15mph). That might be due to my loud exhaust though ROFL. It seems to be random, it happens in all weather, and happens during acceleration and deceleration the most. Any ideas what I should look at?

Is it a squeaking or clicking noise? Does the sound occur more or less at different speeds?

When's the last time you checked/replaced your brakes?

As stated above, you should pull the wheels off, and look at your brake pads. If there's not much pad left, its time for a change.

yea I'd check your brakes first befor jumping into thinken its somthing else

Does this happen mainly when you hit bumps of anysize? If it is mainly at slow speed but not only when braking, my first thought is suspension bushings. Most likely either the spring seat or upper bearing plate.

hmm, squeaking...

my cousin had something similar to this, and in the end his brakes were warped (the rotors). What he had done was drive through a huge puddle in Boston after drive around for about an hour and a half.

It would probably be your brakes, though. Check those and go from there.

Sounds like your brake pads.

I'm interested in this too, I am almost positive my rotors are warped. Squeking when stopping, sound rough, clicking (axle maybe), a little bit of wobble when slowing down. I'm buying some used rotors from a parts car and changing the brake pads.

Im not being an a$$ but why would you get used rotors when you can get new ones for about 15-20 each?

Last owner said he changed pads right before I got the car about a year ago. I'm sure he used valucraft, so I'll check those first thing tonight when I get home from work.

It seems to be happening at slower speeds, but like I said -- maybe i just can't hear it over my exhaust. It's definitely a squeaking, not a clicking. And no, it doesn't seem to be related to bumps at all.

Being in Kansas, I drive alot in hot weather AND snow. Sometimes in the same week :p so maybe my rotor is warped. Would laying a straight edge on it prove that? I'll check both tonight.

Thanks guys :thumb:
