Hello, i have a couple of questions about suspension. I have a 90 laser 1.8. My first is regarding suspension techniques brand lowering springs. I read by searching that the spring rate falls between the eibachs and stocks, anyone have any experience with them? ARe they the least expensive decent spring?

Second question, is i have someone offering me a pair of hardly used eibach pro kits from a 90 tsi, will those still fit my car?

Yeah those prokits will fit your car. However if the tsi was awd, the spring rates will be stiffer (taking into account we are assuming he bought the correct springs). You may want to look into getting new shocks too if you lower the car. People have gotten away with lowering with prokits and keeping their oem or oem replacement (like a gr2) shocks, but not for an extended period of time. I dont have any expererience with suspension techniques springs though. Hope that helps

So they will just be stiffer? Not do doubt, but is this general knowledge? thanks! I am probably going to go with the used pro kit, or the suspension techniques with the gr-2s. Anyone else have any more info?

If the springs were made for an awd, theyll have a stiffer spring rate than those made for a fwd. The prokit is a very popular choice. Do not get the gr-2's. Theyre an oem replacement shock, and arent designed to be very compatible with lowering springs.

thanks. So basically, all springs should fit, as long as the year is right? I have read quite a bit that the gr-2 CAN work ok with something as mild as a drop as the pro kit.
