Hello, I need a quick answer. Do I spray both sides of the front case gasket with copper spray? Also the oil filter housing do I spray both sides of the gasket too? Cant forget the water pump gasket... both sides too wit copper spray?

Do I use rtv after copper spray on front case, oil filter housing, and water pump gasket too? If so both sides? Thanks.

Just use copper gasket spray. Coat both sides and wait for it to get tacky. Add another 2-4 even coats. And then torque to spec.

Copper gasket spray does work!

I have been using copper spray on more & more gaskets lately as well too. Believe I might have used a very thin layer of RTV on the waterpump but the other gaskets mentioned (as well as others), now use copper spray.

Never had an issue with leaks & from what I've seen the copper spray actually seems to aid in easy removal. When I tore down my motor for a rebuild, alot of the OEM gaskets were a huge pain to remove & get the surface clean. I've since had to remove some of the gaskets with the copper spray & they came off, nice & clean. I know they were installed a much shorter period of time vs the origional gaskets, but if this is always the case, its another huge plus for using the spray.

The spray does come off easier, that's why I prefer not to use it where there's 100 psi of oil pressure behind it. Anywhere else is fine but the oil pump, and maybe that aluminum housing that holds the rear main in; those places get brush tack on my engine. I've had problems in those spots before when using RTV based sealants.
