I have a 1G AWD combo of KYB GR2 and Eibach sportline. Was very good streetcar but the GR2´s broke down already after 10.000 miles!!!! has anyone the same problem or are the GR2´s not suitable for sportlines?

Hey man, i had Gr2's for like 3 months of highway drivin on ground controls, and they blew, they r soft and blow easy. Right now i got some springs and am in the process of gettin some new struts, go with either agx's or koni yellows, well worth it, something adjustable

KYB GR2s and AGXs are not suitable for lowered rides. They are simply too long and get damaged by having the car sitting on them all the time (engaged shocks 24/7). They get soft in about a year and will need replacement.

Please don't post such nonsense. They might be long enough to leave you very little travel with Sportlines, but they are not so long as to be on the bumpstops with Sportlines when just sitting there.

I've always been advised to go with the AGX, when I get a new setup later this summer, I will most likely be going with AGX. I know this isn't a good post since it's more of a "I heard" or "I guess", but everyone I've asked that has been knowledgable has sais AGXs are fine.

WTF??

I am speaking through experience. I had 2 weak shocks in my old setup due to the car sitting on the shocks all the time. GR2s are OEM substitutes from the dealer so I wont use them again for an "upgraded" setup.

I don't deny that running those shocks with Sportlines will hasten the death of the shocks. But your assertion that there would be zero suspension travel with this setup is still nonsense.

What are your throughts on AGXs? I've got Apexi 1.8 lowering springs, would the AGX have a nice life with those?

I did not say they are on the bumpstops all the time and have zero suspension travel. I said they will have the shocks not on rest but a slight load on them all the time.

WTH is your problem? Where did "bumpstops" appear in my prior posts? Some people here think they are god or something.

sorry to bring an pld thread back to life but i installed my pass side agx/sportline combo today and trimed the bumpstop like eibach says to do and somthings not right theres way to much strut rod poking through the strutmount if anyone can help they'd be cool "do you have to trim the bumpstop?" oh yea its a 95 talon
thanks
