I was putting about to bolt down the fuel rail with my new 750s when the middle plastic spacer between the head and the middle fuel rail bolt fell between my intake manifold runners. I can see where it fell to but it is impossible to get without removing the intake manifold which I am really not up to doing. Does anyone see any problem with only using the spacers on the outer 2 bolts and not having the one in the middle? They will all be torqued down to spec. I just dont really want to wait for another week to get this done. Besides it should be pretty easy to put one in there once I do get a new one.

I've seen quite a few fuel rails crack without using all 3 spacers. Definitely get it out or see if you can buy one from someone.

Hell, if you pay for shipping, I'll send you one. I'd hate to see you crack a rail and leak fuel.

And when you find it, dab a little RTV or grease on it, just enough so it will stick there.

You can also find replacment spacers at most of the online DSM vendors. But, try the flexible tool method or getting to it from underneath the car.

Well I managed to get it out.. Its actually pretty funny how to... I used a crevest (spelling?) tool from a vacuum.. taped 3 straws in the end and made sure air would only suck through the straws... put that bad boy down between the runners and clicked the vac on... got it out :thumb:

I've definitely gotten them each time I dropped them through either somehow bending my arm in ways it shouldn't or a giant screwdriver that I use to surgically stab into the hole and lift out. They make a 15 minute job last over an hour, that is until you realize you should use the RTV or ANYTHING to make it stick in place.

Now that is some ingenuity. :thumb:

Sorry to bring back an old thread but it seems my car never had fuel rail spacers, maybe the previous owner took the fuel rail off at some point ?
Anywho i have never had a problem and was wonderign if it is ok to run like this until i can buy me a set ?

Does your car have the stock fuel rail?

I can't see how the injectors ever stayed secure in their holes without the spacers being there. Are you sure no one has never used washers or anything like that to take up the additional space?

If all else fails, buy new ones:

If it hasn't had them and it's running fine, I suppose it's alright as long as you don't try to tighted the bolts at all. Pick up a new set though for sure that Jusmx141 listed. If you don't want to worry about loosing them, do what an above post said above and use a bit of rtv on the spacer on the head side. It'll keep it on there until you want it to come off.

I'm positive it never had them and i was also surprised it was running fine all this time.
When i took off my fuel rail i was literally staring at all 3 bolts points and nothing fell or flickered around, it was empty.
Thanks guys for the help.
