There is a place in Kannopolis NC that I do business with that has a lot of DSMs. Need the number? But yeah. A strip sounds good. There is one by me in Elgin. But its a small 1/8 mile track. There is also Darlington and Pageland strips.

Darlington sounds like a good one.

Again if anyone knows where a AWD shell is in the SC area please let me know i need one badly!!! my tranny in my car is acting up, and it is looking cheaper to just go for the AWD now then wait.
 
Yeah. I am looking into finding a gsx early next year. I have to find a car for my wife when taxes come in. She wants an Eclipse. If I don't find one, I will buy her another eclipse, if I find a AWD for a decent price though, I will give her my Spyder and go with that. And Darlington does sounds good. We will figure out details later.

Ernesto, I'm in Anderson too... Just got my Talon, but gotta put an engine in her... hoping to find a 5sp swap for it too, but will be looking for some guys to hang with when she is up and going...
 
Palmetto did you buy a forest green 93 awd shell with the auto trans in it? From in a guy in newberry?

If you did, and you swaping that to a 5 speed im going to shank you. I wanted that shell bad.

LOL!!!! that is the exact one I got! He actually brought it to me. His info was somewhat misleading to say the least. 20G my ass! I know a stock turbo when I see it. Even if this is my first DSM. but the car itself is in really good shape. And not a bad deal on the car.

There is a red one in cola for 750 its an auto, and a 91 in mauldin he wants 1300. and a 92 i think in gville for 2k. all on craigslist. all of them are AWD, the two up here are 5spd. Maybe you can talk em down cause I think the 2k guy has lost his mind and the 1300 guy wants you to put it back together to move it.

btw, were you looking for an auto for yours or a 5spd?
 
I want a 5 speed in a way, but i don't really care if its auto, or 5 speed i just want AWD. My trans in my car recently started acting up once it warms up, so i'm going to save myself the trouble, and find a shell with a trans. If you have the links to thows cars i would greatly appreciate it man. That one for 750 in columbia looks like crap man i havent seen it in person, but the pictures dont speak for the car that well rofl.

BTW i was hopeing you were not gunna come through i really wanted that car LOL.

I just found them i didnt read your post slow enough to see everything. Have you seen any of these cars in person?
 
the more I dig, the more I think this guy don't know crap about cars. But, who knows... I need to measure my valves. He "says" they are +1's, but also said that tiny turbo was a 20G. Oh well, at least the one he brought has no shaft play, so it will get me started, unless I find a deal on a bigger one before I get done with the build. Proabably rip the interior out this week and clean it all up. order my bearings for the engine and a carpet mold. blah blah blah... It will be a project, that's for sure, but that's what I wanted. A good base to start with.

here are three in my area that are for sale. the bottom one is 1300, I have gotten a few pix for it. comes w/ decent looking aftermarket wheels and the factory wheels, has a lot of new parts for it.
Middle one is the one that was listed for 2k, now no price, he may be open to any offer. both of those you can get cheaper because they have been on so long.

Now the top one, is just a shell... literally, no motor or tranny. and it needs a lot of body and interior crap. I wouldn't touch it, but you may want it, I don't know....
 
Hahaha i got a good base start over here. I have replaced every damn gasket all the fluids. Done all the 60k maintence replaced wires batterys, and this car is still failing on me. The motor is strong interior looks great, now the trans poops out on me. I just want to go AWD, and rebuild the trans i don't wanna paint though. You got lucky with that car

I agree with you that the guy didnt know much what he was talking about.

Appreciate the posting the adds. I don't really want a project i just want a car with out the motor would prefer a 91. I tryed calling the guy with the bottom one, and he didnt answer. Also don't wanna deal with the title problem too :D

Well, why don't we get together and do a mini meet at Darlington Dragway and maybe it can built from there. Anyone got some dates in mind? Who would all be game for that?

I think that would be pretty cool. I would also like to get somewhere we can do some turning too... I don't know of any road courses around other than road atl of course. Putting the cart a little before the horse on this one though... if we have it too soon, I will have to push the Talon to the meet. Maybe I could pull it down the strip w/ my Titan.... :hmm:
 
Well I won't be running mine either, but I figured if we were going to meet, as a car driven common interest, it might as well be at a car atmosphere. Just go, hang out, talk cars and watch some racing. I'm good with either Darlington or Pageland Dragway. Which ever works for the general consensus.

Well palmetto i'm selling the car to help support my new car i found!!!!!!!~~~~~~~ BTW this car is a total bust 1990 Eclipse GSX MUST BE SOLD ASAP leaking oil all over the place the oil is leaking so bad it's on top of the hood all over the driver side tire. the paint looks horrible interior is ricey, and trans is shot to hell, and back. Tires are bald power steering is leaking wire harness is choped all up, valve cover is cracked, and when i went to drive the car it didnt even start up he had to play with something i wasnt watching him i was inside the car. The car had something like 187k on it, and the 16g he claimed was a knock off, but the car sounded really nice thanks to the kelford 272s, and 3inch exhaust he forgot to mention. The car was hitting what i guesse was fuel cut at around 5500 it was getting really chopy, and wouldnt rev past it. The idle was at about 2k total waste of a 65 miles drive.

Anyways i found a great car that is currently makeing 12.7 passes (seen the slips, and he has videos of it it's not a meth) nice paint, comp cams supertech valve springs 3inch exhaust link 1250cc's and some other stuff. Car is on a 14b, but i'm gunna put my 16g on it. i will show you guys the car when i purchase it. I am going to be talking more with the guy with in about 30 or so mins.
 
For alot of people everything is for sale, but for me it's kinda hard to let this car go, i have sweated cut myself been broke down on the side of the road 3 different times, spent lots of money hated this car, loved this car. I have changed about everything that i could change on this car, and even had everything that could probly go wrong atleast once. This car has taught me alot, and has made me what i call a minor mechanic..before i got this car i could barly turn a wrench, and had never changed even oil before. I shoulda made a blog man this car showed me alot i love it.
 
The big thing we need to decide on is when, and whos coming, and where are we going. Alot of people are interested, but we have almost everyone with a down car LOL

Palmetto The car doesnt look so bad man. Atleast the person who bought the car i can watch them do something with it. Get busy cleaning it!!!
 
Well, How about Darlington? Let's get a attendance on who all would want come so we can figure out a time and date that works for everyone.

I'll be down to go to Darlington, but i would need atleast a 2 week notice, so i can make sure i have the day off. i
m down even if it's somewhere for us to get some food, and see each others cars
