I pulled the HVAC trim out to replace a burned out bulb, only to find I can't get one from any of the parts houses. Are these bulbs a dealer only item?

It's a clear bulb with an orange "condom" on it and there's a grey base that holds it. I couldn't even find a bulb with leads long enough to get it to work in the grey base.

Cool will get in touch with them if I can't get ahold of a local guy. Also need a few other things. Retarded how it's hard to find simple stuff for this car.

You must not have experience with other rigs than your car.

I have no issues getting parts for the 86 Blazer I have and it's a "bastard" being that it's a diesel. Never had issues with getting parts for the 72 Toyota FJ40 I had a couple years ago.

Hell I've gotten parts at Napa for a 1925 Ford Model T before.

Yeah, for a car that's almost twenty years old.

Got one at the Dodge house. Was $2 for a clear with the correct base and I just put the little orange condom over it.

You now own an orphan which doesn't have the aftermarket support that GMs and classics do. Nor does it have the support that Toyota and Nissan provide their obsolete products.

Welcome to DSMs.

Yeah I'm quickly finding that out. Maybe shoulda bought something else!

Can you use LED's in the HVAC assembly? I plan on doing that in the near future, however I may have to just solder up an assembly (Hooray electrical engineering majors!)

And Nate, junkyards will quickly become your best friend forever.

I'm sure you could put LEDs in there, but I figured one burned out bulb in 18 years... not worth it.

No Eclipse/Talon/Lazer, etc cars in the yards here... I checked.

Did have a guy I found on craig's list with a few parts cars I talked to but now he won't answer the phone or call me.
