sounds like rod nock but not

Well I looked up rod nock and watched an listened to vids so ive determined this problem isnt rod nock. But! it does kinda make the same noise of that clicking. But the difference is rod nock gets real bad when u give it throttle where as my friends car doesnt get any worse thru the RPM range. its just a constant click noise that matches the RPMs does anyone have any idea what it might be?
