Sounds like it's running on three cylinders?

Ok my car ran great before my friend and I installed my fmic, 780 injectors, and a walbro 255. We got everything done and set the maft for my injectors, it will idle fine when we first start it up but if we try and drive it it will start running like crap and the check engine light will come on. We tried logging it but it wont stay connected we could get it to connect but as soon as we tried to read the codes it will say to check connections. Also the ecu kinda smelled like fish so we took the ecu out and checked it, took it down to Pina motorsports and had them replace the caps and he said it still looked good. Now the data logger will connect easier but as soon as we start the car it looses connection. We checked for a boost leak and everything looks ok it leaked at the mbc but not enough to make it run like this. We are starting to think that the coil pack is bad because it sounds like it is running on three cylinders. Oh and one last thing the ground cable that was on thre tranny was arching because it came loose would this cause the coil pack to fail? I am just getting so tired of trying to figure this out and figured it wouldn't hurt to get a few ideas from you guys. Sorry for the long post I just wanted to get all the details in.

Thanks,
Ryan

Nothing? Nobody? Just so everyone knows I also did a compression test and all 4 cylenders were at 165. I also replaced the timing belt so timing is deffinitly on. Oh and we also repleced the plugs...any help?

But I had a problem similar to yours and what had happened was one of the little silver clips that hold those fuel injectors on had come off. The vibrations from the engine was wiggling my injector loose! I know this sounds far fetches but I got a new clip and it fixed it. Had the same symptoms u are having. Worth a shot. Sometimes what seems like a big problem is really a small one. Good luck!

Holy crap that is so funny. Last night I checked all the injector plugs and one was loose! The same thing!! Weird... :p

My car every once in a while does this but is stops ofter a block of so. I just ran out to check the pulgs but they are all on snugg. When it does it my o2 goes to .05-.08. Almost got ran over last night because of it. Did it up a BIG hill with lots of traffic.
