someone please please help me and my poor car

okay so i have a 1997 eclipse gs has no motor mods except a short ram intake its a 5 speed with 95k on it and lately has been running like sh**. when i take off in 1st ill get to like 4500rpms before im at 20mph and second is like 5000rpms and maybe im doing 40 and in third if its under 3000rpms it like bumps and like sputters its stalls very easily and like its just lost so muh power all of a sudden please help! i ran injector cleaner through it and got nothing i need help asap i dont know what it could be?!?!?

Is the maf still hooked up and its all tight, not leaking?

Could be several things and I am sure someone can give you more things to check..

I'd check...

1. Your spark plugs/wires

2. For boost leaks

3. Make sure you don't see anything odd. Check over every hose and wire and make sure everything is connected properly.

4. Car could be in limp mode. Resetting the battery fixed this for me.

ill check that stuff out, but its non turbo how would it have a boost leak? and MAF what is that dumb question... ha thanks guys

check/replace plugs

MAF is the black thing right after your intake filter.

Sorry about that bro, I didn't pay any attention to the N/T. I am used to the usualy diagnoises of problems like this.

I'd say check the MAF like silver bullit originally said. When mine was unplugged, it was pretty rough. It is possible the plug is lose or that it is bad.

well when i look at my intake the maf isnt even on there its just a striat tube like it goes manifold>coupler>short ram tube>filter but ill do the plugs and wires asap

hah i wish it was turbo although it be more complicated...

the 420a dont have a MAFS(i dont think casue mine doesnt have one) try the plugs and wires, also check out your fuel filter located under that car behind the right rear tire, mine was clogged and i had the same symptoms as you do

Could possibly be a clogged CAT. My buddy's car ran awful when his was bad. It almost acted as thou i didn't want to shift and sometimes seemed to have a fake rev limited on it too.
