ok i went to the mall the other day and when i come out to get in my car "THERE IS A DENT IN MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!" some 1 opened there door into mine, its about an inch or so theres no scratches or anything on it just a dent, can i take the door panel off and pop it out or will the paint be stretched, cuz i heard that it will start to chip if i pop it out???????!!??!!?

its a lesson you have to learn the hard way...people do not have respect for other people anymore like they used to. You will not find a peice of paper with insurance information to accompany your dent like the past. I ALWAYS park in the back of the parking lot and get a little excersize.

yea i got a cracked windshield thanks to a stupid hillbilly truck that parked in the damn employee lot right next to me for w/e reason?! but yea it either park in the buisy areas and get dented/smashed or park way out of the way and get ur car broken into or have ur shit stolen. hmm y do i hate the world?

I was thinking perhaps something like this, color-matched to the car and with a simple magnetic mount. I'd call it the "ClayDoor".

If it's not real deep and kind of wide I have heard of people having sucess with heat and ice. I have heard of people leaving their car in the sun on a hot day untill it gets real hot and then put ice on it. Sometimes this will cause the dent to pop out I think the heat also makes the paint a little more flexible and less likely to crack. If that doesnt work then you will be able to push it back out from the inside however if the metal has been streched it will either bulge in, out, or ripple since you now have more material in the same amount of space. You may want to do this on a warm day too to keep the paint a little more flexible.

   Claymore mines, just need to rig them with a vibration sensor so when they knock against your door the vandals become a non issue.

I too would take it to a paintless dent repair place. They are usually pretty reasonable and it sure beats ruining your paint tryin to do it yourself. As for the heat and ice. I have done this before, it's an old school body man's trick called shrinking. It's the only way to fix a panel that has stretched from a dent. In that case you will use a torch and heat the metal up with a orange area about the size of a dime and then hammer and dolly the metal and cool it with some water. I don't think the sun's heat will warm the metal enough for it to contract when hit with ice.

A lot of places have had good luck using dry ice for the same effect.

I'm not sure if you got a chance to read my reply in your identical locked/deleted thread but I would also take it to a paintless dent repair place.

Eclipses do not have any door guards on the doors like the newer talons do .
They sure would help . But if you love your car like me you will park your car close to the curb or park at the end of parking lot. I just hate those people swinging their doors right open . :thumbdown

I hate when I park pretty perfect and some big ass dually truck parks diagonal so that his bed is actually behind my car. I had to crawl through the passenger side and barely got out. (This was a while back) He had hit my door with his. So after FINALLY getting out of the parking space, I stomped a nice dent in the side of his truck for good measure.
