mount pearl,
OK i installed a warlbro pump, 36 lb injectors .12:1 fmu , cut off end of fuel rail regulator 95 model rail, i also installed a adjustable fuel pressure regulator be for the fmu at the end of the rail, missing link. when i boost it seems like a backfire yet there is no pull from the boost ,seems like a lack of fuel. i have put a fuel pressure tester on the rail and at idle it reads 40 psi ,also put pressure to fmu and it hits 120 at 10psi . Yet when u turn the car off the pressure in the rail goes to 0 . can anyone help

Sounds like the exact opposite. Way too much fuel. Check your plugs I bet they're black. You want a 12:1 for stock injectors (230ish cc), I believe you're going to want somewhere around an 8:1 off the top of my head but don't quote me. Also for injectors that size you're going to want your idle around 20-25 psi not 40.

No offense, but it sounds like your half-assing it using an fmu and an afpr instead of using an sfmu. I'm not even sure how that would affect fuel pressures as both the fmu and afpr are meant to increase fuel with boost

You need to do some serious research on this subject

pulled the plugs they are tan yet black around the rim , It dosent seem like i am getting to much fuel it seems to little. That is what dosent make sence. O yea just to add i did a compression test (8.1 wisco pistions) and its at 125 across the line.

I'm assuming you don't have a wideband, do you at least have a blinky light a/f gauge?

Ya, you dont want a 12:1 fmu with bigger injectors. The Fmu is looked at as a sub par/temporary set up, (thats how I have heard it described), you are past this type of set up because you have bigger injectors. You need to either put the stock injectors back in or get a sfmu, so you can ditch the afpr and fmu.

Edit: just to confirm what cs82 is saying, I would agree that you are running too rich

OK removed the fmu . adjusted the idle pressure to 25 psi at idle seems OK yet when i took it for a run seemed to be holding back . id the 125 compression normal .

Thats cause now your not getting enough fuel under boost, LOL. You still need a way to raise your fuel pressure for when your under boost. I would also think 25psi at idle is too low better but to low. If you had a wideband this would be 100 times easier.
Like I said either put your stock injectors in or get a sfmu.

Yeah, that's not the way to solve this problem. Reinstall the fmu, reinstall stock injectors, and turn the boost down. Remove the fpr, throw it in the trash or sell it. Purchase a vortech sfmu (search there's another post less than half a page down with links to tons of info on it, if it's not on this page then it's in the turbo section) When you get the vortech toss/sell your fmu. Put your 36# injectors back in and be good to go. Also invest in some type of a/f gauge, preferably a wideband, nobody every said that properly boosting a 420a was gonna be cheap.

If we're understanding you right, you're currently running a 1:1 fpr which won't be providing enough fuel under boost. You've gone from one end of the scale to the other, definitely no improvement.

If you're asking these types of questions, I question whether or not your parts are even installed properly. As a matter of fact, I'd equate what you just did to putting a band aid on backwards

OK installed smfu at idle 25 psi 10psi 90 psi OK . Backfiring gone yet boosts to 10 psi and reads a little rich (using one of those light gauge a/f gauge . yet once boost hits nothing , did a leak test on plumbing no leeks yet i can here air coming out top pan filter, after i plugged that and boost tested it again it seems like IT is coming outside of top pan could this be why boost isn't hitting?

Wait so you are boosting to 10 or you are not? Please clarify...
