SMoke + PCV = Help :(

Well. I'm not to happy. When my car is running i get a lotta air/smoke outta the side "PCV" I think thats what it is. Some ofyou do the filter trick to stop the oil. Is this suppose to be like that? I mean theres more smoke than what i want to come out. Then when i shut the engine off open the oil filter cap smoke rises outta that its not dense but its not a lotta. and its white is this normal or am i about to do a rebuild

Have you done a compression check, 'cause it sounds like you could be looking at a rebuild . I've never had that on my car.

no no check the car runs smooth and pulls hard..... Dosen't smoke out the exhuast. *Sigh* This car will give me a heart attack someday

When I take off my oil cap sometimes right after a mild drive some smoke comes out....isn't effecting anything I dont think...

Excessive blow-by from your vavle cover would lead me to think its your rings.Trust me you don't to smoke from your exhaust at idle,start up,or when your driving normal to have a problem happening or about to happen with your pistons or rings.How much smoke are you getting?Barley noticable?Does it pour out?The only way to really tell is to get those compression #'s.Even though your car feels fast it could be letting you know that something is about to go wrong.

It isn't. It's just a crankcase breather, and has no relation to the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve. Do this and stop concerning yourself with it:

ya the breather i'm going to do that mod but i just have to figure out were to attacth the other end of the hose to

well im having the same problem. my compression is 150 on all 4. and it never did it when it was in the outher car. only my smoke is real bad. coming from the oil cap, and the vent tube.
