Small 16g FWD 1/4 times

I finally went to the local 1/4 mi track w/ the GS-T. Lately Ive been running only at the 1/8 mi track to practice launches and what not. There I run consistent 9.0-9.1s at around 81 mph w/ 2.2-2.3 60's on 91 pump gas. Saturday I decided to hit the 1/4 mi track and see what she would do.

Mods:
Small 16g (boost - 20ish psi)
Supra sidemount
2.5" downpipe (no cat)
3" cat back
RC 550s
AFC2

Gas: VP 110 mix w/ 94 oct.

1/8 e.t. - 9.277
1/8 mph - 80.53

1/4 e.t. - 13.851
1/4 mph - 105.47

I ran similar times three times in a row, so I was pretty consistent. I couldn't hook-up after the 1-2 shift at all. I either had to let-off or reaaaally baby it. If I had some tires and rims suitable for the track I would've done better. I was on my 18" racing harts wrapped in 225-35-18 Khumos ecstas. All-in-all Im happy w/ my times (solid 13s) especially w/ my setup. I couldn't nail my 1/8 mi times though, I guess I have to get use to the track. Anyhow, my car won't be hitting the track for awhile now. It now has 140,000 miles on the original motor and I want to begin the rebuild process. I worried about it holding up as it is.

i just finished my small 16g last week, allong with a FMIC and 550s and afc and after tuning it, on pump gas at 18psi, its pretty damn awesome

My buddy just came back from the track in his 92 civic ex b18 swap and t3/04 @ 7psi and he ran 13.2@107mph and we went from a roll both at 40 and 60mph and i pulled away from him by a decent margin


I am looking for 12's @ 110ish next week when i go to the track, on drag radials

The small 16g is definately an underrated turbo. The lil guy really packs a punch. For a fwd I think its a perfect street turbo.

great run I just got back from the track with my new GT10 on my 90 fwd.............I NEED SLICKS!! best run of the day was 14.01@ 112MPH. My best 60 was 2.4s and Im using a lsd and yokohama drag radials.

Seriously, you have to really abuse the clutch to get a good 60'. I stay in the clucth through 99% of first gear, and then 20% of the time through second. I never go full throttle in first and always shift into second no later than 5500-6000 RPM. That usually gets me 2.2-2.3s sixties and 6.0-6.1 330's. In a fwd, the ET is a direct result of your 330' times and not necessarily the 60' times.

Thanks for the info though it rained at the track that day which could have been one of the factors in my lack of traction......I was decent getting outta the hole but once I hit the wet stuff ( all the competitors parked on the first part of the track while it was raining) little traction was to be had.
