I got my hands on some free Skunk2 Cam Gears that Im going to slap on my engine during my rebuild...:rocks::dsm:

but I was woundering, I was just going to zero them out and run them because I still have a OEM cams, but is it worth the trouble to ajust them for more power of of my stock head?

Yep. You still need to adjust them if you want to make the most HP out of the cams....unless you have MIVEC! :)
 
Here's a question. Do you still need to adjust them if you have DSMLink?? Since DSMLink has the adv an retard in there...

That's for ignition not adjusting when the valves open, overlap, and close.

To the OP, you can always tune with those, but you are on stock cams, so don't have great expectations.

Here's another question. When doing th advance an retarding them which one should be advanced for HP? The intake right?? What would you do with the exaust one then? Retard it or still advance it with intake one?? I dont know too much about fine tunning an no one here that I know does eather.
 
damn on stock cams? seems backwards

But if anything you can play with retarding the intake up to 2 degrees... maybe 1.5 on the intake and 1 on the exhaust...

If you do any kind of advance it would be for Auto-Crossing... or if you have large cams

*** it's pretty much pointless because all you're doing is moving your powerband... Advancing will move it lower in the rpm's (huge torque increase) retarding will move it later in the powerband (small/mild HP increase).... and the stock lobe seperation will be ideal for the lift and duration, I can't imagine gaining more than 5hp by changing the lobe seperation
